History: The late Mr Austin Edwards lived in Warwick
and for several years carried on business in the town as a photographic
manufacturer. He was also a councillor of the Borough of Warwick and
remained deeply interested in Warwickians and Warwick affairs generally.
During his lifetime Mr Austin Edwards gave generously to the Corporation
of Warwick.
When Mr Austin Edwards passed away in 1944 he bequeathed his residuary
estate to a Charity now known as The Austin Edwards Charity Trust.
Area of Benefit: The Charity is able to make Grants
for a wide range of charitable purposes for the benefit of residents of
the old Borough of Warwick (generally post code CV34).
Frequency of Meetings: The Trustees normally hold one
meeting per year in July but will consider applications throughout the year.
Grant Applications: Please complete an application form and send it with a covering letter to the address below. Forms can be obtained by clicking to the left or contacting the receiver.
The income of the Charity is limited and grants offered will generally
be no more than £300.
National charities may apply provided they are able to demonstrate that
any funds donated will be applied exclusively for the benefit of individuals
residing in the old Borough of Warwick. Names and addresses of individuals
must be supplied with the application.
Charities and Institutions may be required to provide evidence of financial
stability and existing resources by submission of their latest financial accounts
and budgets.
Where grants are applied for in respect of study courses, the Trustees will
only consider providing funding for one course per applicant. Applications for
follow-on courses, post-graduate courses and additional degrees will not be considered.
